Joseph Clancy

Managing partner of Clancon Build (, Joseph co-founded the family construction business back in 2007 after more than a decade working with construction and residential property development firms across Ireland. Clancon’s main area of interest is residential developments, heritage works, renovations, social housing and commercial fit-outs in the dental, medical and restaurant sectors.



His aspirations and goals for the family business are to grow it steadily with a great team of people, developing new products and with excellence, hard work and skills being the core assets to the success of the business.



As we learned through the nomination process, Joseph is very involved with charity and community development. He is a director of an NGO serving Haiti and the greater Caribbean region, and in 2022 he began working with partner groups in Poland, Romania and Ukraine to assist with supplying vital food, clothing and medical goods that are kindly donated by companies, food producers and the people of Ireland. 


The charity is called Project Espwa ( and he is involved with supporting three x groups in Ugandan, Africa. His involvement with charity works began as a 13-year-old with the Catholic Youth Council and raising funds for Temple Street Hospital in Dublin and he is absolutely passionate about helping those in need, giving them a ‘helping hand’ to create a better life for themselves and their families. 



Raised on a farm in Co. Wicklow, Joseph has a great appreciation of agriculture, nature and the great landscape that is Ireland. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Construction Technology in DIT Bolton Street in 2007 and is constantly updating his skillsets and knowledge base within the Construction Industry. Modern Methods of Construction, Passive Home Construction and Sustainability being his main interests in this industry.



He is now married and has one child and lives in Donabate, Co. Dublin. He has a keen interest in sports – GAA and Rugby in particular; his interests are varied, ranging from current affairs, personal development, and technology to travel.
